Drain Jetting Fern Bay

Drain jetting in Fern Bay fires water at high pressure down a blocked pipe to wash out sand, grease and sludge a plunger or coil would only poke through. Your plumber in Fern Bay names a fixed price before the jetter starts. Ring (02) 4063 1093, or see our blocked drain clearing for other methods.

Why Does Jetting Beat a Coil Here?

An eel spins a hole through the plug and leaves the rest clinging to the pipe, so flow drops off again before long. A jet washes the whole bore from end to end.

  • Peels fat and grease off the wall instead of shoving it further along
  • Carries sand and silt right out of the pipe
  • Gets round bends and past joints with nozzles that pull themselves forward
  • Leaves a clean bore you can check on camera

No chemical cleaners are used, since they attack fittings and struggle to reach the plug itself.

How We Jet a Drain

  1. 01

    Find the blockage first

We open the inspection point and, if the cause isn't obvious, send the camera in ahead of the hose.

  2. 02

    Pick the head

Root cutter, sand flusher or grease nozzle, chosen for the pipe material and whatever is choking it.

  3. 03

    Wash it back

The hose travels up the pipe at working pressure, breaking the plug apart and flushing the debris back to the opening.

  4. 04

    Check the result

A final camera pass shows the cleaned bore and any damage left behind.

Roots on the footage mean root cutting and sealing is the next job, while a cracked wall calls for lining the pipe rather than another flush.

What Changes the Price of Jetting?

Jetting quotes shift with:

  • The blockage itself Grease breaks up quicker than packed sand, and sand quicker than a root mat.
  • Distance A short branch behind a 1960s beach house takes less hose and time than a long estate line with several bends.
  • Getting in An inspection opening buried under lawn or paving has to be found and dug out first.
  • Urgency Jetting a sewer overflowing at night costs more than booking it for a weekday.

Sand, Groundwater and Roots in Fern Bay

Sand lies along the whole pipe

Wind-driven grit from the dunes gets in through loose joints and pit covers and settles over the full length, not in one place, so we flush the entire line instead of chasing a single plug.

Groundwater keeps pipes half full

With a high water table under the suburb, drains sit wet even when clear, so a line that seems only a bit slow can be close to stopping. Banksia and paperbark roots follow that moisture into the older clay joints under the 1960s to 1980s houses.

Older beach houses, Bayway village homes and near-new estate builds all get the same jetting standard.

What Customers Say

We talked through the options of our blocked kitchen sink drain (not just an s bend problem) and came to the perfect long term solution at a reasonable price.

When Jetting Is Not the Right Call

Water can't fix a broken pipe. Where the footage shows a caved-in length or a joint sitting well out of line, jetting will wash past it and leave the fault in place; that needs a repair or a liner. A choke in the public sewer beyond your connection is for Hunter Water to clear, and our recording shows where your pipe ends and theirs begins.

Drain Jetting Questions

Will jetting shift a line packed with dune sand in Fern Bay?

It flushes out the sand sitting in the pipe, but sand in a line means there is a gap at a joint or pit cover letting it in. The jetter gets the water moving, then the camera finds that gap so it can be sealed instead of cleared again after the next windy spell.

Is high-pressure water safe for the older drains around the Bayway village?

Yes, with the setting turned down to suit. Old clay and cast iron take a softer jet than modern PVC, and where a line is getting on we film it first, so a brittle length is never hit at full force.

Do you jet stormwater lines as well as sewers here?

Both. On level sand, stormwater pits fill with blown grit and scrub litter, while sewers choke on grease and paper. Each gets its own nozzle, and yard drainage and pits has more on the flooding side.

How soon after jetting can the drains be used again?

Right after we finish. We run water through every fixture on that line before packing up, so the sink, shower and laundry are back in use as soon as the van leaves.
